Welcome to the short tour of the Toastmasters District 58 website! We hope you will find it informative and helpful. Design choice As you may find out, the District 58 website is an easy one to use and downloads quickly over most Internet connections, made possible due to simple web page design. Consideration is placed more into content and purpose over bells and whistles, such as flashy animation and other entertaining forms of display. The background curtain graphic seen on key pages represent positions of authority where competent communications and leadership are practiced. The Index Page The Index or Home page is the first one seen as you visit the District 58 website. It introduces the menu, key points, updates, and legal information. The menu is on the left side, the key points are in the center, the list of updates and notes are on the right, and other important information is toward the bottom of the page. About Us This section describes the mission, composition, placement, and a few other interesting things about District 58. About This Website This section is the one you are reading now. It describes the reasoning for and the guide to our website, as well as procedures for submission of material for publishing and notifications of website updates. Clubs This section describes the particulars for each club and their placement within the district. It also provides various means for anyone searching for and administering their clubs. Reports This section allows you to see how the district and your club(s) are progressing toward becoming and remaining Distinguished. It also includes district financial reports. News and Publicity This section provides a record of events and items of special interest to the district. Newsletters This section contains newsletters of general interest for the district (Palmetto Toastmaster) and of special interest from the District Governor and Region VIII. District Leaders This section lists all key personnel that deal with district functions, except those generically designated (all club presidents, etc., for example) as part of the District Council. Calendar This section lists all district events and others of significant interest to the district. Training This section describes all training events within District 58. Training events are highlighted separately in addition to their listings on the calendar due to their importance. Conferences This section describes all conferences within District 58. Conferences are also highlighted separately in addition to their listings on the calendar due to their importance. For convenience the regional conferences and international conventions are also listed in this section. DEC Meetings This section describes all meetings held by the District Executive Committee. Auditorium This section contain several means by which all members can publicly communicate with each other. The forum provides a recorded exchange of ideas, the guest book provides a record of comments, and the chat room provides live interaction. Resources This section is a library of materials for use within the district. They can also be downloaded by others outside of District 58 and adapted for their use. Membership This section shows one how to look for a club and join Toastmasters International. Contact Us This section describes how anyone can contact certain key personnel for obtaining information or resolving district matters.
