District 58 Website Submission Guidelines

Anyone can submit materials for publishing on our district website. All submissions are reviewed for editorial content and technical quality. Please follow these guidelines:

Text documents

Use standard text (txt) or Word (doc) format for your documents and send them as e-mail attachments. If a text file is small enough it can be included in the e-mail message without the use of an attachment. Documents in either of these two formats are easily posted in the least amount of time and can be read by many brands of browsers and word processors.

Images

Send images in jpg or jpeg format as e-mail attachments for minimal processing before posting and easiest viewing by many browsers and imaging programs. Identify all individuals and credit the photographer. Send artwork and other non-photo visuals in gif format.

PDF files

Send all documents in PDF format as e-mail attachments. They are also very easy to receive over e-mail and posted with no processing. The PDF format has become increasingly used for many district documents.

Multimedia

Send PowerPoint and similar presentations in ppt format, as this format has become standard in many office applications. Please submit ppt-formatted materials and all other multimedia presentations as e-mail attachments or on discs via regular mail.
