2009-2010 Incentives for Membership Growth and Retention
In an effort to continue the growth of our District, please see these great incentives brought to you by District 58.
1. Membership Dues Renewals: Clubs
that renew 75% of their membership by the deadlines (April 1 and October 1)
will receive an Audio CD by Lance Miller entitled: Leadership for a
Championship Club - Part I (www.LanceMillerSpeaks.com)
2. Club Coaching:
a. Speechcraft Starter Kit (Item 205; value $20.00) for any club with a
membership count of 12 and less and which requests a club coach.
b. Attaché case from Toastmasters (Item 6881; $14.00) for club
coaches who bring the clubs that they coached to be Distinguished
by 6 months
c. Chat Cards (item 1319; $10.00) presented to a club with a starting
membership of 12 and less, that shows a net increase of 5 members in six months
or less.
3. Starting New Clubs:
a. Attaché case (item 6881; $14.00) for Sponsors and Wheeled Backpacks
from Toastmasters (item 6631; $37.00) for the mentors who help a newly
chartered club for the first six months and more.
b. Gift Basket worth $117.50 to a club that is chartered within 30 days of
conducting a demo meeting. This basket will contain:

d. For the sponsors and mentors of a club chartered between now and
September 30, their registration fees to the Fall Conference plus one free
lunch minus room charges will be paid by the District
4. Membership Growth Incentives
a. New Member contest: If someone brings in 5 new members before Sept 30,
paid through MARCH, they get a gift certificate to the TI store for $10. If
they bring in 10 new members before Sept 30, paid through MARCH, they get a $25
gift certificate.
b. AREA
GOVERNOR and DIVISION GOVERNOR ONLY incentives. AG or Div G with the largest
percentage increase in members between now and Final numbers for September gets
free conference registration.

will be announced later.

Monthly Club Membership Challenge
Clubs with the most new members in a calendar month from October 1, 2009
- June 30, 2010 will receive a $10 gift certificate to the Toastmasters
International product store to purchase materials for its members. Also,
clubs with new members from October 1, 2009 - March 31, 2010 will be entered
into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to the Toastmasters International
store. The drawing will be held at the 2010 Spring Conference. Clubs with new
members joining from April 1, 2010 - June 30, 2010 will be entered into a
drawing for a $25 gift certificate to the Toastmasters International store.
The drawing will be held at the 2010 Summer Toastmasters Leadership Institute
(TLI).
Monthly Club Educational Challenge
Every month: The Club with the most Educational awards in a month will win their choice
of “Effective Evaluation” video or the club may choose to receive a $10 gift certificate to the Toastmasters
International product store to purchase materials for its members.
From the winning clubs there will be drawings for a $25.00 gift certificate
to the TI store based on the following dates:
October 1 – March 31 - Clubs drawn at Spring Conference
April 1 - June 30 - Clubs drawn at Summer TLI
Golden Link Award
The member who earns three Education or Leadership awards during the year receives a “Golden Link” trophy. Members can achieve three CCs or any combination of other awards such as CC, CL, ACB, ALS, etc.
Distinguished Program Challenge
The goal must be met by April 4, 2010. Prizes will be awarded at the Spring Conference in 2010.

Monthly District Website Contest
Be the first to find the special golden link icon on a website page, and email the information about its location to the Webmaster and win a $10 gift certificate to the TI store. Winners will be determined by date and time of email received. (DEC members excluded)
Win the Pin
Sponsor a Member, achieve an Educational or Leadership Award or participate in a Leadership Institute during the 2009-2010 TI year and you will receive the District 58 collectable Pin. (One pin per member).

Club Contests
Smedley Award: Aug 1 - Sep 30Add five new, dual, or reinstated members between August 1st and September 30th and the Club will receive:
- a Smedley Award ribbon to display on the club banner
- and the choice of one module from The Better Speaker Series, The Successful Club Series, or The Leadership Excellence Series.
Add five new, dual, or reinstated members between February 1st and March 31st and the Club will receive:
- a Talk Up Toastmasters Award ribbon to display on the club banner
- and the choice of one module from The Better Speaker Series, The Successful Club Series, or The Leadership Excellence Series.
Add five new, dual, or reinstated members between May 1st and June 30th and the Club will receive:
- a Beat the Clock Award ribbon to display on the club banner
- and the choice of one module from The Better Speaker Series, The Successful Club Series, or The Leadership Excellence Series.
Individual Contest
Individual Recognition:July 1 - June 30
Why Did You Join Toastmasters? For most members it's because someone invited them to a meeting. What about you? Have you invited anyone to your club meeting lately? Think of the people you know who should join Toastmasters. Make a list, speak with each one and invite them to your next meeting. No need to be shy. Think of what Toastmasters has done for you. The same can be said for many others, now and in the future. Give them the opportunity!
Consider this: You encourage five people to join, they each encourage five people to join, who each encourage five people to join...over the space of a few years, your invitation can positively affect hundreds of people. Aside from feeling good about your contribution, you can earn the following:
- A unique pin, for those individuals who sponsor five new members.
- A Silver Star pin, the reward for those sponsoring 10 new members.
- A Toastmasters necktie or scarf for individuals sponsoring 15 or more members.
- This membership program begins July 1 and ends June 30.
- All members of Toastmasters clubs are eligible and are encouraged to participate.
- To receive credit as a sponsor, your name must appear on the application for Toastmasters club membership (Item 400) along with your home club number. Please print or type information legibly. No changes will be made to the applications once they are received by World Headquarters.
- New, dual and reinstated members count for credit; transfer and charter members do not.
- The new member's join date must fall within the July to June range.
- Applications and payment must be received at World Headquarters no later than June 30.
