Holiday Goodies

William L.A. "Will" May, III, ATM-G,
Lt. Governor of Marketing

As they say, first the good news! There are several people performing the parts-of-their-bodies-that-don't-see-the-sun off. They are, in no particular order:

Of Special Note:

Curtis Yant, DTM, PDG has been going the extra mile for this unworthy LGM. As our Club Rescue Chairman he has not only been helping struggling clubs, but he has led the charge in helping clubs turn in their semi-annual dues. This is a thankless and, sometimes, mundane job. And, I haven't helped it out any by not saying thank you enough. So, Curtis--

***THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU***

Mid-Year Superlatives:

Douglas Wilson: Our Division B Governor has done a couple of things worthy of praise:

  1. Sponsored our first new club of the year, State Farm.
  2. All Division B clubs have their officers list in.
  3. And, his Division B has the highest retention of members at 77.7%.
Linda Wright: Showing what an ex-District Governor can do, she sponsored our second club of the year, Beech Baby Talkers.
Two Notch Toastmasters Club, which is in Division B, Area 21 has the most members of any Club in the district with 31! Go Two Notch!
Bill Arnold, Area 21 Governor, is the only area governor with all of his clubs at 20 members or more. He's setting an example for allof us.
Talk of the Town Toastmasters has the MOST NEW MEMBERS in the district with 7 new members and has the highest growth rate in the district with a 23% growth rate. That's something to make them the talk of the town and the district.
Lee Holliday and Division E are the only Division with every club turning in BOTH their semi-annual dues and their officers list in. Way to go, Lee!
John Mallon and Division A have the most new members of any Division with 19 and Larry Fulton's Area 11 has 15 of those new members making it the Area with the most new members.
Joanne Roberts and Area 13 have the highest Area retention rate with 84.4%. They know its easier to have growth by keeping the ones you've got.
The Better News: Opportunity runs rampant!:
Once again or District has a premier opportunity to make a stunning charge in the second half of the year. We've got them right where we want them!
  1. We have a goal of 22 new clubs and so far we've already got 2 of them! That means we, under the direction of Lee Holliday our New Club Extention Chairman, are going to turn in 20 new clubs in the next 6 months! Get excited about this.
  2. We have a goal to have 664 new members (8 new members per club) and we've already got 58 of those. 606 new members in 6 months!! Wow! Get even more excited.
Translation for all the positive speak: We're a little behind on our, admittedly, ambitious goals.

But, but, but--WE CAN STILL MAKE OUR GOALS. And, here is how we are going to do it:

  1. Every club get 1 new member every month from now until June.
  2. Each ofour District Officers is going to personally spear-head the effort to start 1 new club. Please, if they call asking for your help, give it!
We can make a difference in your lives, the lives of others, and the whole of South Carolina if we stay committed to our goals. These goals are ambitious because we are the best; they are difficult because we are strong; and, they will make a difference because we are Toastmasters Making A Difference!
