May Dear President Blakey and Dr. Duffield: Welcome to South Carolina and the Fall Conference of Toastmasters International District 58. I hope that you will have a most pleasant stay in the beautiful Upstate of South Carolina. South Carolina and Queensland have enjoyed a wonderful sister-state relationship since Premier Beattie and I signed an agreement in early 1999. This is a vital and growing relationship which extends beyond the formal Memoranda of Understanding to include personal exchanges like the one you are engaged in. Queensland and South Carolina have so many similarities that I am sure you will enjoy your stay here. It is an honor to have the President of Toastmasters International visit South Carolina. The fact that the two of you are outstanding public servants of the City of Brisbane and the Queensland Department of Primary Industries is even more remarkable. Public service has many aspects, and I commend and congratulate you on your service to Queensland and to the members of Toastmasters International.
