April in Aiken - Spring Conference Dates Set

A Toastmaster's Not-to-Miss Event April 14, 15, 16

Toastmasters from every corner of District 58 are set to descend on the lovely town of Aiken, SC for the Spring Conference scheduled for April 14-16, 2000. This year's conference will be highlighted by education, entertainment and recognition of club and individual achievements.
Begin the weekend on Friday, April 14, at 6:00 p.m. with munchies and music in the Hospitality Room at the Holiday Inn Express. Relax and visit with fellow Toastmasters as they gather from across the state.
On Saturday there is a change of venue to the beautiful Houndslake Country Club, where the day begins with a rousing opening session followed by top-notch training. The District Communication and Leadership Award recipient will be honored at the noon luncheon, and other Toastmaster club and individual awards will be presented. A highlight of the luncheon will be the announcement of "The Winner's Circle" honorees. At the Saturday evening banquet, those clubs excelling in membership growth and development will be seated in "The Winner's Circle". After a fun time at the afternoon Table Topics Contest, we will adjourn to prepare for an exciting and elegant evening banquet.
District officers for the upcoming Toastmaster's year will be installed during candlelight ceremony, and the evening will be topped off by the International Speech Contest. One speaker from each of our five divisions will compete to represent District 58 in Regional competition.
Look for the detailed agenda elsewhere in this newsletter and get that registration in the mail to Karen Alexander. We want to see YOU in Aiken.
