Proclamation

SPARTANBURG TOASTMASTERS MONTH IN DISTRICT 58
MAY 1, 2004 THROUGH MAY 31, 2004

Whereas, the ability to speak in a clear and effective manner is a powerful and important skill that can help overcome barriers to effective performance in virtually every endeavor and line of work; and

Whereas, by assisting in the development of essential communication skills, Toastmasters International, through its many clubs Worldwide and specifically through the Spartanburg Toastmasters Club #1453, performs a valuable service for its members and those who carry the message of opportunity, initiative and good fellowship; and

Whereas, during the month of May the Spartanburg Toastmasters Club #1453 is celebrating its fiftieth year of outstanding achievements; and

Whereas, the Spartanburg Toastmasters Club #1453 has continually provided District 58 and Toastmasters International with leaders such as District Governor Will May, District Treasurer Francis Lee, Division Governors Robert Black, Larry Bishop, Joe Fowler, Joyce Murphy; Debra L. J. Grant, Leslie Hughes, Ann Shepherd, and numerous Are Governors including Everett Dexter and Brad Simon;

Therefore, I, William L. May, Jr., DTM, Governor, District 58, do hereby proclaim May 1, 2004 through May 31, 2004 to be:

"Spartanburg Toastmasters Club #1453 Month in District 58"

I encourage all Toastmasters of District 58 to recognize the many accomplishments and opportunities in communication and public speaking that the Spartanburg Toastmasters Club #1453 has provided its Members and our organization.
