Regretfully, the District 58 Annual Conference is cancelled.
The Board of Directors of Toastmasters International has made the following decisions regarding current and upcoming District events, effective immediately:
Area, Division, or District events can no longer be conducted in person, on or prior to June 1, 2020. The District 58 Annual Conference scheduled for May 15-17, 2020 has been cancelled. We will issue refunds over the next day. Unfortunately, we were not able to stop the conference postcard promotion from being mailed out yesterday.
With this, ALL district contests for the 2019-20 Toastmasters year (Area, Division and District) are suspended as well. As an alternative, the district will offer some online events. We also encourage clubs to host events online to help clubs and members through this difficult time.
Whether your club is still meeting in person, virtually or on a brief hiatus, please encourage your members to renew their membership dues. This will not last forever and is important to remain a club in good standing. Being a member and club in good standing will also be necessary for voting on 2020-2021 District leadership at the virtual annual district council business meeting on May 16, 2020. More information will be as we receive it.
District 58 leadership is working extensively with Toastmasters International to understand and convey the latest information, next steps and best practices for all affected Toastmaster members. Your welfare and safety important to us. We will continue to provide regular updates and with current information as we move forward during these uncertain and unprecedented times.
