District 58 need sponsors and mentors for the new clubs. Being a Sponsor and Mentor or a Coach for a club will give you credit towards your Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) award in the Pathways education program for Toastmasters.
Sponsors, mentors, and coaches will also receive a credit upon completion of assignment and submission of paperwork to Toastmasters International by a current club officer.
Sponsors help with setting up club meetings, sell new clubs to prospective members and assist new clubs with paperwork.
They offer support and guidance until the new club charters.
Mentors help the officers and members of clubs with officer roles, meeting roles, Pathways education experience, speech contest preparation, and anything Toastmasters related.
Serving as a mentor requires at least a six-month commitment to provide adequate club support. Toastmasters International has a club coach program. Club presidents, we are not telling you and your clubs what to do. However, the program is available if you need help, guidance, and support to make your clubs successful. There are requirements in order to request a club coach.
Clubs must have between 3-12 members, have at least one club officer who has completed the club coach program module, are not suspended or closed, or do NOT currently have two coaches appointed.
There are also requirements if you are interested in serving as a club coach.
- You must be a paid member in good standing,
- Must not be a member of the eligible club in the past 6 months,
- Have been a members of Toastmasters for at least a year,
- Have served as a club officer for at least one annual term or two semi-annual terms,
- Completed a minimum of Level 2 in a path in Pathways or an Advanced Communicator Bronze or an Advanced Leadership Bronze, and completed the Club Coach Module.
